Joe Biden, the former US Vice President under the administration of Barack Obama, has again hinted that he may run in the 2020 presidential election.
"I appreciate the energy you showed when I got up here," Mr Biden told the International Association of Fire Fighters' annual conference on Tuesday.
"Save it a little longer. I may need it in a few weeks. Be careful what you wish for.” Mr Biden’s comments come as he makes is final decision on whether to begin running for president later this year.
Senior Democrats say Mr Biden is likely to make the final decision soon and that an official announcement would be made as early as April, CNN reported.
This is not the first time Mr Biden has flirted with the idea of running for the White House.
He told NBC News on Tuesday that he "could not think of any reason" not to run. On 29 January, he told CNN that he was no hurry to announce but there was "a bigger hurry to decide just personally".
Fourteen Democratic candidates, all vying to take on President Donald Trump, have entered the party nomination for the 2020 presidential race.
They include Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren, Vermont senator Bernie Sanders and Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.
On March 6, Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire entrepreneur and former mayor of New York, announced that he would not run.
The 2020 Democratic National Convention, where the final presidential nominee will be chosen, will take place between the July 13 and 16, 2019.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.

UAE's role in anti-extremism recognised
General John Allen, President of the Brookings Institution research group, commended the role the UAE has played in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
He told a Globsec debate of the UAE’s "hugely outsized" role in the fight against Isis.
"It’s trite these days to say that any country punches above its weight, but in every possible way the Emirates did, both militarily, and very importantly, the UAE was extraordinarily helpful on getting to the issue of violent extremism," he said.
He also noted the impact that Hedayah, among others in the UAE, has played in addressing violent extremism.
