ABU DHABI // Arab pop sensations Nancy Ajram and Ramy Ayach are coming for a concert on the Corniche next week during the Red Bull Air Race.
And Ajram has promised something special.
“The concert will be a night to remember on the Abu Dhabi Corniche,” she said. “I am thrilled to be performing in the UAE capital again, especially in the context of such an adrenalin-packed event as the Red Bull Air Race.”
Ayach, who plans to perform his latest hits, shared Ajram’s enthusiasm.
“It’s wonderful to be part of such an exciting event,” he said.
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship, the fastest motor sport series in the world, will also feature a concert by the Egyptian band Wust El Balad.
The Corniche is already gearing up for the event, which will kick off on Sunday, and include appearances by the drift king Abdo Feghali, the stunt bike rider Shadi Al Dhaheri, the Spanish flatlands biker Viki Gomez, and the Romanian trail biker Robert Kovacs.
Tickets are on sale at the Corniche and Virgin Megastores, or through redbullairrace.com.
Air race ticketholders receive free entry to the concerts. A separate ticket just for the concert can be bought for Dh150.

Recharge as needed, says Mat Dryden: “We try to make it a rule that every two to three months, even if it’s for four days, we get away, get some time together, recharge, refresh.” The couple take an hour a day to check into their businesses and that’s it.
Stick to the schedule, says Mike Addo: “We have an entire wall known as ‘The Lab,’ covered with colour-coded Post-it notes dedicated to our joint weekly planner, content board, marketing strategy, trends, ideas and upcoming meetings.”
Be a team, suggests Addo: “When training together, you have to trust in each other’s abilities. Otherwise working out together very quickly becomes one person training the other.”
Pull your weight, says Thuymi Do: “To do what we do, there definitely can be no lazy member of the team.”

Who are the Soroptimists?
The first Soroptimists club was founded in Oakland, California in 1921. The name comes from the Latin word soror which means sister, combined with optima, meaning the best.
The organisation said its name is best interpreted as ‘the best for women’.
Since then the group has grown exponentially around the world and is officially affiliated with the United Nations. The organisation also counts Queen Mathilde of Belgium among its ranks.
