Aidan O’Brien can edge closer to breaking the all-time flat racing record of 25 Group 1 wins in a single season at Newmarket on Saturday with a strong presence in both the Cheveley Park and Middle Park Stakes.
The Irishman came up three short of equalling the record set in 2003 by Bobby Frankel last year and has 18 Group 1 victories this year.
He sends out Clemmie in the Cheveley Park for fillies run over the 1,200-metre distance and has four entered in the Middle Park for colts over the same trip in the next race.
Ryan Moore partners Clemmie, who comes into the race on the back of a Group 3 prize at the Curragh in Ireland and the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket in July.

The Galileo filly's impressive victory over Nyaleti in her last start should stand her in good stead when she lines up alongside the Mark Johnston-trained Threading in the silks of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Dubai, who is undefeated in two starts.
The filly by Exceed and Excel made an impressive debut by trouncing a big field in a maiden by six lengths and followed it up with another excellent showing to take the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York over a month ago.
Heartache, trained by Clive Cox, is the other in contention. The winner of the Queen Mary was unlucky when suffering her first defeat in France but the daughter of Kyllachy bounced back to take the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster in her most recent start.
In the Middle Park, Sioux Nation is the choice of jockey Moore from O’Brien’s quartet.
Sioux Nation comes into the race after back-to-back success. The Scatt Daddy colt won the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes in June and the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh last month.

New process leads to panic among jobseekers
As a UAE-based travel agent who processes tourist visas from the Philippines, Jennifer Pacia Gado is fielding a lot of calls from concerned travellers just now. And they are all asking the same question.
“My clients are mostly Filipinos, and they [all want to know] about good conduct certificates,” says the 34-year-old Filipina, who has lived in the UAE for five years.
Ms Gado contacted the Philippines Embassy to get more information on the certificate so she can share it with her clients. She says many are worried about the process and associated costs – which could be as high as Dh500 to obtain and attest a good conduct certificate from the Philippines for jobseekers already living in the UAE.
“They are worried about this because when they arrive here without the NBI [National Bureau of Investigation] clearance, it is a hassle because it takes time,” she says.
“They need to go first to the embassy to apply for the application of the NBI clearance. After that they have go to the police station [in the UAE] for the fingerprints. And then they will apply for the special power of attorney so that someone can finish the process in the Philippines. So it is a long process and more expensive if you are doing it from here.”
