Somehow, June is just around the corner. And although it feels like 2020 is moving at lightning speed (yet also dragging its heels), it means we have a new crop of TV shows and movies to stream this month.

Here, we round up the new releases coming to Netflix, Starzplay and OSN Streaming that should keep you busy for the next few weeks.

Get ready to add them to your "to watch" list.

'Manhunt' 

This British TV series stars Martin Clunes as London Metropolitan police detective Colin Sutton, who is tracking down a serial killer in a plot based on a true story.

'The Luminaries'

This is the first season of the adaption of the Eleanor Catton novel of the same name. Eve Hewson, Eva Green and Himesh Patel star in this series, set in the mid-19th century, which features a backdrop of New Zealand scenery as dazzling as the fantasy story.

'13 Reasons Why'

The fourth season of the controversial hit teen series, which documents a group of students following the suicide of a classmate.

Streaming: Friday, June 5, on Netflix

'Intelligence'

Friends star David Schwimmer stars alongside Nick Mohammed and Jane Stanness in this brand-new series. The show is about a National Security Agency agent, who teams up with a computer analyst to form a new cyber crimes unit in the UK.

Streaming: Thursday, June 11, on Starzplay

'L.A.’s Finest'

Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union star in the first series of this TV spinoff of the Bad Boys films. Follow the antics of drug enforcement agent Sydney Burnett (Union), now working for the Los Angeles Police Department.

'Jo Koy: In His Elements'

The comic's new Netflix special is almost here. The stand-up has a special focus on Filipino culture, taking the comedian back to his roots in the Philippines.

A Netflix Original series about Paul Copeland, a man trying to solve the murder of his sister back in 1994.

'Artemis Fowl'

Artemis Fowl, a young criminal prodigy, hunts down a secret society of fairies to find his missing father in this Disney+ Original.

'I Love You, Now Die'

A two-part true crime documentary by HBO. I Love You, Now Die recounts the story of American teen Michelle Carter, who was convicted of encouraging the suicide of her boyfriend Conrad Roy. The documentary asks what really happened behind closed doors.

'Divorce' 

All three series of Divorce, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Thomas Haden Church and Molly Shannon, will be available to stream. The show details a couple as they go though a long, drawn-out divorce.

'Leftovers'

Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman and Christopher Eccleston star in this HBO series about a community of people seeking answers after 2 per cent of the world's population mysteriously went missing. All three seasons will be available to stream.

'The Politician' 

The second series of the hit show is coming in June. The new season picks things up where the last left off, with college student Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) ready to take on the fight for New York State Senate.

'Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga'

If you missed Eurovision 2020, then make time for this Netflix Original, starring Natasia Demetriou, Rachel McAdams and Will Ferrell. When two aspiring musicians are given the opportunity to represent their country at the world's biggest song competition, they have a chance to prove that a dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.

Girls full-contact rugby may be in its infancy in the Middle East, but there are already a number of role models for players to look up to.

Sophie Shams (Dubai Exiles mini, England sevens international)

An Emirati student who is blazing a trail in rugby. She first learnt the game at Dubai Exiles and captained her JESS Primary school team. After going to study geophysics at university in the UK, she scored a sensational try in a cup final at Twickenham. She has played for England sevens, and is now contracted to top Premiership club Saracens.

Seren Gough-Walters (Sharjah Wanderers mini, Wales rugby league international)

Few players anywhere will have taken a more circuitous route to playing rugby on Sky Sports. Gough-Walters was born in Al Wasl Hospital in Dubai, raised in Sharjah, did not take up rugby seriously till she was 15, has a master’s in global governance and ethics, and once worked as an immigration officer at the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi. In the summer of 2021 she played for Wales against England in rugby league, in a match that was broadcast live on TV.

Erin King (Dubai Hurricanes mini, Ireland sevens international)

Aged five, Australia-born King went to Dubai Hurricanes training at The Sevens with her brothers. She immediately struck up a deep affection for rugby. She returned to the city at the end of last year to play at the Dubai Rugby Sevens in the colours of Ireland in the Women’s World Series tournament on Pitch 1.
