DUBAI // American businessman Zack Shahin will face a charge of fleeing the country illegally, the Attorney General confirmed today.
Mr Shahin fled the UAE in July shortly after being granted bail on the Dh300m fraud charges against him. He headed to Yemen where he was arrested and returned to UAE custody.
In a statement issued by the Dubai Media office, the Attorney General Issam Al Humaidan praised prosecutors for acting speedily in cancelling Mr Shahin's bail and returning him to prison.
