"Khaadi is the Persian or Urdu name for handmade fabric woven on looms. It was a dying craft on the subcontinent and the idea behind Khaadi is the revival and conservation of a traditional technique," says Khaadi's owner and founder, Shamoon Sultan.
The result is a selection of hand-woven cottons, silks and flowing chiffons dyed in lasting colours or embellished with embroidery, block and screen printing and cut work. If you want to update your home with something bright and beautiful - cushions, bed linen, table linen or rugs - this is the place to come.
Shamoon, who is based in Karachi with a team of 18 designers and 3,000 workers, is proud to say that all of his products are made in Pakistan. There are 15 shops in major cities, and also two in Dubai - one in Festival City and the flagship store in Jumeirah.
The store is laid out in distinct areas (accessories, jewellery, menswear and womenswear) with the homeware section offering an original selection of products. Prices range from Dhs30 to Dhs1,200.
"We want people to find products in all sorts of price ranges at our store," says Shamoon.
One thing is for sure, you won't leave disappointed.
